This new video, which shows a rare and very shy male sea turtle in the wild, is part of a new exhibition titled 'Honey, I'm a Rock', which opens to the public in New York at Art Basel on December 6. The exhibit features more than 3,000 individual works of art that are being created by artists around the world.
It is one of a series of exhibits created by the National Geographic Society to promote conservation. A special exhibit opened in 2010 at the New York Zoo. The latest series includes 'Saving the Whale', based on the story of David and Goliath of Mount Vesuvius; 'Blackfish' (based on the tragic death of blue mussels off the coast of Mexico), inspired by the 2004 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico; and 'The Greatest Catch' (based on the 2006 Atlantic Salmon Disaster).
It was created and coordinated by Peter Eisner's nonprofit National Geographic Society.
This video's composer is Jody Wescott, a native Hawaiian-American singer who was born in Hawaii.
